It doesn’t end there though, and you can actually use your blog posts throughout your process to make your life a whole lot easier and elevate your couples’ experience.

Let’s get this bit out of the way before we talk about the fun stuff (yes, really) - there is one specific techy admin box you’ll want to tick once you’ve published your blog.
Indexing via Google Search Console
Before you recoil in horror, this bit is way easier than it sounds.
Google has to ‘index’ all your web pages, which just means looking through them to get an idea of what they’re about (and therefore who to show them to). When you publish a new web page (e.g. a blog post), it can take a while for Google to actually show up to do the indexing - so what you’ll want to do is give it a friendly nudge, so you can start getting organic search traffic to that blog post straight away.
How? Open up your Google Search Console account and copy/paste the URL of your new blog post into its ‘inspect any URL’ box at the top. Hit ‘enter’, and it’ll let you know whether or not that page has already been indexed (likely not if you just published!). If not, you’re given an option to ‘request indexing’, and by clicking that you push your page up the priority queue.

#1 Use your blogs to answer people’s questions
I’m willing to bet you get asked the same questions a lot during enquiries, and spend quite a lot of time typing the same looong email out in response. Instead, try turning that FAQ into a blog post that you can quickly and easily send to your couples when they ask.

#2 Help to explain your process/what to expect from working with you
Whip up a blog that goes into detail about each step of your couples’ journey with you, whether that’s the stages of designing a bespoke wedding dress or a timeline for their wedding stationery.
Once they’ve booked, you can send over the blog so they know exactly what to expect!
#3 Send couples guides to different options you offer in blog form
Maybe you have a list of font style options for a custom-made veil, a specific set of customisation choices for wedding invitations, or want to demonstrate what different amounts of tiers on a cake can look like.
Blog it and send it to your couples, removing a big chunk of explaining from your emails!
#4 Help your couples get inspired for their own wedding
Sometimes they need a bit of help figuring out the vision for their wedding, so sending them a blog themed around what they’re asking for can help them to narrow it down.
Examples could be; different all-white wedding cakes you’ve made when they’re asking for something monocolour, or a selection of aisle florals you’ve designed in the past when they’re not sure how to explain their style.

Have you asked your couple to start gathering inspiration for their wedding on Pinterest, or need some information from them about another aspect of their wedding? Sharing your top tips to help them do this in a blog is going to save on typing time, and elevate their experience - you’re showing yourself as supportive and portraying yourself as the expert you are!

#6 Link to your blogs around your website to help couples ‘find out more’
Don’t be afraid to redirect couples to your blog from different places around your website - sometimes you might want to say more about something without making your web page even longer.
Keeping people’s eyes on your website for longer benefits them (they get to soak up more info about what you do), you (they get to figure out if you’re the perfect person for their wedding) and your Google rankings (nobody wants a high ‘bounce rate’!).
#7 Go above and beyond what you actually do
Can you write blogs that help your couples after or outside of working with you? Something that isn’t directly your job, but will complement your work.
For example; a guide on the best way to style their wedding cake, the importance of collaboration between their florist and stationery designer, or a walkthrough of how to properly put their veil in, clean their engagement ring or steam their bespoke wedding dress.
You could consider collaborative blog posts with other complimentary members of the wedding industry, earning you valuable backlinks at the same time. If that’s not for you, how about a collaborative Instagram post or live? Your couples will value getting two expert opinions at once!
#8 Create Instagram posts
You’ve already done the hard work writing your blog - now simplify your social media strategy by repurposing it. Take sections directly from your blog and tweak them into Instagram captions. A wedding industry behemoth of a marketing platform, Pinterest will absolutely eat up your new blog content. It loves pins that link to fresh web pages, which is exactly what your blogs are, and content that is helpful and valuable to couples planning their weddings.
